The JFN Community Conference

On March 9th, marking International Women’s Week, a fascinating conference took place at the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, which hosted the JFN community for a day of learning and exploration on the topic “Gender Lens Implementation – From Theory to Change,” in the spirit of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality’s strategic program in partnership with the Tel Aviv Foundation to promote gender equality – “Equal City.” The “Equal City” program is led by Efrat Makin-Knafo, Head of the Resilience & Social Equality Authority and Mayor Advisor for Gender Equality.

The conference opened with greetings from Sharon Duek, Director of the Donors Network Community at JFN Israel, and continued with a comprehensive presentation of the program with Menachem Leiba, Municipality Director Genral , Efrat Makin-Knafo, Head of the Resilience & Social Equality Authority and Mayor Advisor for Gender Equality., and Dr. Hila Oren, CEO of the Tel Aviv Foundation.

Participants learned how tri-sectoral collaboration between philanthropy, civil society, and local government can serve as an impact multiplier for promoting gender equality in the urban space, and how similar models can be implemented in other municipalities across the country.
