On Thursday, March 20, a gala event was held at the Great Synagogue in Tel Aviv, marking the launch of a comprehensive renovation project for the historic building and Har Sinai Plaza. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv Foundation representatives, the synagogue’s President and Rabbi, Mr. Patrick Drahi, and more than 200 distinguished guests.
Ron Shahar hosted the memorable evening, which featured addresses from Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo and Chairman of the Tel Aviv Foundation, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau and a prerecorded message from Israel’s President Isaac Herzog. During the gala the Torah scrolls were removed from the ark in preparation for their temporary relocation during the renovation period.
