It doesn't take a major gift to make an impact

How do youngsters from the tri-state area help out teens in need living in Tel Aviv? By holding bake sales and lemonade stands.

Through their own organization "Triplets 4 A Cause", 11 year-old triplets Noah, Julia and Anna Greenblatt, from Englewood, NJ, held a cookies and cocoa sale on November 22 for Darfuri refugee teens living in Tel Aviv. They raised more than $1,800 that will help Mesila, a Tel Aviv City aid agency, provide Darfuri teenagers with basic needs and support.

Young Hallie Richmand, from Chappaqua, NY, visited the Bialik Rogozin School in Tel Aviv. Amazed by the melting pot of immigrants, Israeli children and refugees, yet surprised by the lack of gym on the campus, Hallie and her friends took on the initiative to raise money to support the establishment of a gym for the children of Bialik Rogozin. They raised $2,800 by selling cookies and lemonade in their neighborhood and raising awareness through their website.

These two initiatives embody the values of T'zedakah and show that it doesn't take a major gift to make a significant impact on peoples' lives.
