Beit venezuela therapeutic school

The Beit Venezuela – Kalisher School is a regional day school for handicapped children, operating all year long. The school serves as an educational, therapeutic and rehabilitative center for pupils with serious developmental disabilities, i.e. cerebral palsy and other neurological diseases.

The school was established in Tel Aviv in 1987 by Ilan, (the Israeli Association for Handicapped Children), in conjunction with the women’s division leadership of the Jewish community of Venezuela. The school was predestined to accommodate 25 children with multi development problems, to prepare them, step by step, to serve themselves in the future and to ease the burden of treatments on their parents, allowing them to continue with their life: working and caring for their other children.
In the past 15 years, there has been a steady increase of handicapped children enrolling into the school. Unfortunately, as predicted, this escalation will continue in the coming years.

The school is constituted of various rooms and halls created to meet the complex needs of the pupils. Some of the rooms include: a physical therapy rehabilitation hall, a speech and communication therapy room, an art room, a computer room.
